Microscope is a great tool for soldering and for visual inspection of boards and components. I am happy to have it and would recommend it.
Nevertheless mine came defective on one of the sliding mechanism. It would wobble by more than a centimetre and slide with difficulty. I tried to find the problem myself in order to avoid asking for a replacement and found that there are 5 wheels on each slide, 2 of which have eccentric displacements settings. Tuning those settings corrected the problem and now my sliding microscope works well and is sturdy.
There are a few other minor improvements that could be done but overall the microscope is OK for the price.
Here are a few quirks that could be improved:
- Support for the endoscope is cheap compared to the rest.
- Microscope always starts with endoscope and microscope view, viewing only the microscope is not saved between power offs.
-They are 2 microscope height adjustments and the secondary one is wobbly, it needs screws to be secured just like the microscope in its support, screws gets loose and need frequent setting to keep the microscope stable.
-The secondary height gear rack adjustment mechanism is mounted with a screw thread but unfortunately gets secured at 180° from its needed position so that it must be unscrewed by 180° and then tightened at thar correct position with other screws. This makes it not so secured and it gets loose while using the microscope.
The product is new and I am sure these will be improved in the future. I like the LED lighting as well as the remote control that avoid touching the microscope buttons.
This is a great tool to have.
